Gallery Place – Washington, DC – Western Development Corporation in association with the John P. Akridge Company announces the opening of their most recent mixed use development, Gallery Place, a distinguished new destination for business, shopping, dining, entertainment and living in Downtown Washington. The project includes 230,000 SF of Class A office space, 270,000 SF of prime retail space, 192 luxury residential condominiums, and 700 parking spaces in a secure underground garage. Other retailers in the project include a 14-screen Regal Cinema, BB&T, Urban Outfitters, the Aveda Institute, City Sports, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Ann Taylor Loft.
   
  Lighting Designer Margaret Tucker has accepted a design position with Van Nuys based JK Design Group. Most recently of Walt Disney Imagineering, Ms. Tucker brought an impressive list of design credentials from both the theater and themed entertainment worlds. Educated at Bennington College in Vermont and having received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California, Tucker’s responsibilities will include design, specification and Project Management tasks associated with JK’s eclectic array of lighting design Projects.
 
Galpin Aston Martin Showroom – North Hills, California – On April 16th, Galpin Motors hosted a Hollywood A-list, star studded black-tie gala to unveil their spectacular new $2.5 million Club Aston. Located in their Los Angeles, California showroom, it introduces an entirely new concept in showroom design and in the merchandising of exotic automobiles - all with the distinctive flavor of James Bond. Amongst the many special guests were a number of past 007 cast members, including Robert Davi, Gloria Hendry and Maud Adams. Also amongst those making appearances were California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lee Iacoca, Carol Shelby and William Shatner.
     
Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills - Tarentum, Pennsylvania – The Mills Corporation of Arlington, Virginia proudly announces the opening of their 1.1 million square foot (GLA) Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills. Featuring anchors Kaufmann’s, JC Penney and Sears the center also boasts a wide variety of inline stores like American Eagle Outfitters, Victoria’s Secret and Aeropostale. Additionally, the center is also home to an eclectic range of specialty stores like Cinemark 3D IMAX Theaters, NASCAR SpeedPark and Lucky Strike Lanes.
 

Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley – JK Design Group has accepted the lighting design commission for a new 70 Acre, 700,000 square foot (GLA) regional Lifestyle Center being developed by Poag and McEwen Lifestyle Centers, Inc. to be located in Manteca, California. JK joins Architect MSTSD of Atlanta, Georgia and Graphics Designer Redmond Schwartz Mark Design of San Clemente, California.
 
 
Metropolis Lifestyle Center – Plainfield, Indiana – Anchored by JC Penney, Dick’s Sporting Goods and an 18 screen Rave Cinema, Premier Properties of Indianapolis was pleased to announce the opening of their 850,000 square feet (GLA) Metropolis Lifestyle Center. Situated on 52 Acres, the tenant mix includes some of the hottest retailers representing all segments of the fashion spectrum, contemporary accessories, home fashion and furnishings, and an array of dining choices previously unavailable in the area.
 
 
Southdale Shopping Center Revitalization – JK Design Group is pleased to announce that they have been selected to design lighting for the renovation of the Mills Corporation’s 1.3 million square foot (GLA aggregate) Edina, Minnesota property originally opened in 1956. Popularly credited with being the nation’s first enclosed regional shopping center, it features over 130 inline stores and specialty Tenants like AMC Theaters, Crate & Barrel, Banana Republic and JC Penney.
 
 
The Streets at Southglenn – Alberta Development Partners, LLC in Partnership with Walton St. Capital have announced that they will be breathing new life into the existing Southglenn Shopping Center in Centennial, Colorado. Promising to be “vibrant and diverse, from morning to midnight” the Project will incorporate elements of regional draw and universal appeal by combining 950,000 square foot of retail and 350 loft residences. Joining JK for work on the Project are industry leaders Callison Architecture of Seattle and Charlotte, North Carolina’s Shook Kelley.
 
 
  Las Vegas, NV – During “ASTC Forum 2005,” held in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Board of Directors of the American Society of Theatre Consultants (ASTC) voted to elevate JK Principal Edward Kaye to full Member status.
   
 
Glendale Galleria Revitalization – JK Design Group has been retained for the Concept Design phase of General Growth Partner’s premier 1.5 million GLA mixed-use, multi-level, enclosed super regional shopping center originally opened 1n 1976. Working alongside Architects JPRA of Farmington Hills, Michigan and Graphics Designers 505 Design of Boulder, Colorado, JK will design new and upgraded lighting treatments for interior and exterior areas throughout the Project. Previous renovations of Glendale Galleria were completed in 1983 and 1997.
